Dwarf Russian almond performs best in full sun and well-drained soil. It has low to medium water needs once established and tolerates drought conditions fairly well. Water regularly during establishment, then shift to deeper, less frequent watering. Pruning should be done after flowering to shape the plant and encourage fresh growth. Removing a few older stems periodically helps maintain density and bloom production. Winter protection is generally not required in Rocky Mountain climates.
