An East wind brings with it a unique perspective of the landscape, with the awe-inspiring Black Canyon to the east of our location. As the wind blows gently from the east, it provides a clear view of this natural wonder, known for its deep, rugged beauty. Understanding wind direction is crucial, especially during pesticide or herbicide application. An East wind carries air from the east to the west, impacting the drift of sprays. By being aware of this wind direction and the presence of the striking Black Canyon to the east, we can make informed decisions to ensure accurate treatment delivery while appreciating the scenic beauty of the canyon's landscape.

 

Teammate Instructions

To determine the wind direction while spraying, look for visual cues around you. 

An East wind will be coming from the Black Canyon or Cerro Summit Pass visible in the distance. In this case, the wind is blowing from the East, carrying your spray toward the West or Grand Junction. 

When spraying during a light breeze, position yourself upwind of the target area, so the wind carries the spray in the intended direction and minimizes drift.
