Process / Industrial Water

Industrial process water covers everything from a car wash to a machine shop coolant loop to a plating line, and the hazard depends entirely on what the process is.

What they have in common is that the water on the process side has been used for something, is frequently treated or dosed, and is nearly always moved by a pump — which means backpressure. That combination puts most industrial connections in the highest protection category by default, with the burden on the facility to demonstrate otherwise rather than the other way round.

Process lines also change. A facility that adds a chemical step to an existing line has changed its hazard classification whether or not anybody has told the water provider.

Scope on this one: we test and repair. Assemblies inside the building are not ours to replace — that is licensed plumbing work — but a failure is far more often a rebuild than a replacement, and rebuilds we do on the spot. The device types, and where our work stops.
