Our Shale Infield Blend, sourced from the Western Slope’s rich red shale deposits, is a finely tuned mix crafted for baseball infields, trails, and bold landscape beds, delivering a rusty-red glow that wakes up any outdoor space. Born from ancient clay locked tight under pressure, this decorative rock packs down smooth and firm, giving diamond dust a pro-grade feel that grips cleats just right—though it’ll dust your shoes and leave a proud red streak on your pants if you slide into base. It’s the kind of material that says you’ve been out playing hard, steeped in Colorado’s raw, earthy charm.
At Brookstone Outdoors, we love how this blend brings a rugged, lived-in magic to every project—its tight pack makes trails a breeze to walk, while its warm hue turns beds into standout features. Over time, it softens under traffic, settling into a natural, weathered look that celebrates every inning or stroll, making it a home-run choice for those who want their outdoors to feel both functional and fiercely alive.
