Why homeowners hand this off

Nobody on a ladder.

About 18,400 people a year end up in the emergency room from holiday decorating, and adults 40 to 60 are the largest group. A November roof at 6,000 feet is cold, frosted and pitched for snow. Let us do it.

Handled start to finish.

Install, in-season service, takedown in January, and storage in our building. Nothing lives in your garage and nothing gets untangled next November.

Lights that fit your house.

Measured and cut to your roofline, so no gaps at the corners and nothing left dangling. Commercial-grade C9 LED with replaceable bulbs and heavy-gauge wire rated for cold, not the big-box strands that go dark when one bulb fails.

You already know us.

We maintain landscapes across this valley, we are licensed and insured, and we will still be here next November. Our crews are already people you let on your property.

One price, set before we start

We measure your roofline and quote a flat price for the season. No hourly rate, no meter running, no surprise invoice.

A rough number is fine — single-story homes run about 120–180 ft and two-story 160–240 ft. We measure it on site either way.

Most houses are more than the roofline. Add anything else you want lit — each one is a flat price.

How we do it

The details, for anyone who wants them.

We design and install holiday lighting and decorations for homes and businesses across Delta and Montrose counties. After the season, we take the display down and store it until the following year, so there is nothing to box up and nowhere to keep it.

Our lighting program

Under our lighting program, the lights belong to Brookstone Outdoors. We design the display, install it, repair it during the season, take it down afterward, and store it until the next year. The program is billed at $5.75 per foot. Because the lights are ours, repairs during the season are included at no additional charge.

We also install displays using lights a customer already owns. In that arrangement, repair visits during the season are billed.

Design

We plan each display around the building and the landscape: rooflines, entries, trees, and walkways. Lighting is available in several bulb styles, including C6, C7, C9, M5, and 5mm wide-angle, along with icicle and net lights, and in a range of colors including warm white, cool white, pure white, and multi-color.

Installation and repairs

Installation is done by our own crew, with runs secured and connections protected for wind and snow. A display on the Western Slope has to hold up through storms and freeze-thaw cycles, and it is installed with that in mind. If a strand or section fails during the season, we come back out and repair it.

Takedown and storage

After the season, the crew removes the display and stores it. The following year it is reinstalled from storage, which keeps the design consistent from one season to the next.

Scheduling

Displays on our lighting program can be installed beginning in November. Other installations begin the week before Thanksgiving. Installations are scheduled in the order requests are received.

Can we hang lights you already own?

Yes. We will install them at the start of the season and take them down in January for $3 per foot, with a $450 minimum. That is labour only — there is no service guarantee during the season and no off-season storage, because they are not our lights.

We need to see them first. What we charge depends on the condition they are in, and an additional fee may be charged for clips and for detangling the strands. Call the office and we will come and look before we quote it.
